The following documents are designed to assist LGPS Pension Fund Administering Authorities in developing their communications resources for scheme members and employers. They are developed by the LGPC Secretariat in conjunction with the Communications Working Group.
A two part leaflet entitled ‘Re-joining the LGPS’, part 1 is designed to assist LGPS Pension Funds and includes information on how the leaflet is structured, part 2 is the information which Pension Funds will need to supply to scheme members when they re-join the LGPS (or in the case of concurrent employments when they combine pension accounts).

Year End Guidance
This document is designed to assist LGPS Pension Funds when developing their own year-end templates to provide to employers for the Scheme year ending 31 March 2015. An excel spreadsheet accompanies the guidance noting the core data items which employers must supply to LGPS Pension Fund administering authorities for each employee who is a member of the scheme during the Scheme year, supplied per job.

Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) template
This document sets out the legal requirements for annual benefit statements for LGPS members in England & Wales for the 2014/15 Scheme year onwards, taking account of the need for clear communication of this information particularly in light of the career average Scheme reforms implemented in April 2014.

Communications Working Group
The Communications Working Group (CWG), a meeting of communication professionals from Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds in England and Wales is a collaborative forum, who meet on a quarterly basis to develop items of communication, primarily for scheme members in the LGPS.
The group worked closely with the LGPC Secretariat on delivering the communications plan for LGPS 2014. Given the success of the LGPS 2014 communication plan it was decided that the CWG would agree an annual plan to detail the areas of work they will be focusing on each year. This is to ensure that all administering authorities pension funds and employers are aware of the items of communication the group is aiming to produce.
Details on the work being carried out by the Communications Working Group for 2016/17 are available in the below work plan.

The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) changed from April 2014 and as part of the changes a new series of logos were developed, replacing previous LGPS logos. These logos have since been superseded by further logos which have removed the 2014 reference. Feedback from members in relation to the new member website indicated that members thought the website was out of date when 2014 was included in the logo.
The LGPS logos for designers of publications, stationary and other materials are available here [ZIP file, 1175kb]. You will need WinZIP to extract the files.
